Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Born in Málaga, he demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent from an early age and later moved between Barcelona and Paris, where he developed his distinctive and revolutionary style.

Picasso is best known as the co-founder of Cubism, a movement that radically transformed the representation of form and space in modern art. Throughout his long career, he explored an exceptional variety of media — including painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, and printmaking — and created iconic masterpieces such as Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (1907) and Guernica (1937).

Restless, inventive, and endlessly experimental, Picasso went through multiple creative phases, from the Blue and Rose periods to Cubism, Neoclassicism, and his later expressive works. His artistic output is considered one of the largest and most diverse of any artist in history.

Picasso spent his final years in the south of France, continuing to work with the same intensity that defined his entire life. Today, his legacy endures as a cornerstone of modern art, and his works are held in major museums and collections around the world.
